With Christmas songs on a constant repeat, school nativity rehearsals well underway and a quickly diminishing selection of ideas for Elf on the Shelf; it’s safe to say that the days until the Christmas holidays are counting down.

At this time of year, planning what you are going to do with the kids in those moments of rest in the run up to Christmas and the time after the festivities have calmed down is pretty low on the agenda. 

Children of all ages love making and exploring new textures, colours and techniques through art. In fact, I think the majority of my school holidays was spent sat around the kitchen table painting, cutting and sticking. Today arts & crafts are some of our most popular sessions on camp, from clay creations to mega murals, children love getting creative! 

Having a go at something creative with your children is a great way to spend quality time together this holiday. Not only that, but they make perfect presents for friends and relatives in this festive period. However, from my years working with kids, I know that getting them to get creative can be a bit tricky!

I am sure we have all been there... the amazing creation envisaged has turned into more of a PVA mess than a pinterest worthy masterpiece! Or perhaps you're just lacking that creative sparkle to help inspire their makes?
